This is prayed before meals. When Catholics gather together for a meal or even a potluck, if no priest or deacon is there, someone else often starts this prayer. Everyone immediately joins in... because Catholics know this prayer. After you memorize it, you will, too.
You should also say this at home before your own meals.
Bless us, O Lord, and these, Thy gifts, which we are about to receive, from Thy bounty, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
