There is a surprising amount written about this little prayer. It is sometimes known as the lesser doxology or by other names. Catholics pretty much only call it the Glory Be. This prayer acknowledges the Trinity around which, in the early Church, certain heresies revolved. However, through this short prayer, we join with the angels in Heaven to give glory to each person of the Blessed Trinity.
