The Fatima Prayer
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, [and] lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need [in most need] of Thy mercy. Amen.
Here is another short prayer. At the beginning — "O my Jesus..." — the "my" is sometimes left out by people saying this prayer. In the same way, the "and" in the first brackets is optional. The phrase in the second brackets is an alternate way in which you will also hear this prayer.
This prayer was given by Our Lady at the apparitions at Fatima. (Other prayers were also given there.) There is overwhelming evidence as to the legitimacy of the apparitions at Fatima. Hopefully, you will learn not only about Fatima, but also about Our Lady's other apparitions later in your class.
Mary told the children (the visionaries) that this prayer should be added at the end of each decade of the Rosary. Normally, people just say it after every Glory Be of the Rosary. (The first Glory Be is not at the end of a decade.) You will learn about the Rosary itself a bit later. Of course, you can say this prayer at other times, too, even when you are not praying a Rosary.
Meanwhile, this small prayer, added to what you should already know, will make learning the Rosary much easier when we get there.
This is an important prayer asking that Jesus save us. That concern was echoed by Jesus Himself just a few years later during the Divine Mercy messages.
Carefully memorize this important prayer.
